HE made his name in wrestling as champion showman The Rock but the tame-named Dwayne Johnson is taking over Hollywood.First the 35-year-old inherited the big screen hard-man mantle from legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sly Stallone.

Now the American has moved into family-friendly blockbusters - and his new Disney flick The Game Plan topped the US box office.

But Dwayne’s career success has masked months of turbulence in his personal life.

In June 2007, the proud family man announced that his ten-year marriage to wife Dany was over.

Despite the split, Dany is still Dwayne’s business partner - an arrangement that ensures he regularly sees his six-year-old daughter Simone.

DWAYNE ‘The Rock’ Johnson talks about returning to the world of American Football for Disney’s new family movie The Game Plan, developing an appreciation for ballet, singing and wearing leotards and mascara.

The star revealed what made him want to throw his weight behind the role in the family film.

He said: “I’ve always been drawn to comedy. It’s always very unique and special when you can make people laugh and feel good especially in movies. I’m not drawn to really dark material.”

SAN PEDRO, California — Movies are for the imagination. Never was that more evident than a year ago this month, when the MTV Movies team drove to a rundown section of this California harbor city; entered a dank, decaying warehouse flavored with the faint scent of asbestos; and were told that we were in a top-secret government bunker underneath Washington, D.C.’s most iconic monuments.

And that Steve Carell, the actor behind bumbling “Office” idiot Michael Scott, was a James Bond-like secret agent.

“Actually, I’m a spy in both of them, so in that sense it’s not different at all,” Carell joked about “Get Smart,” his comedy that co-stars Anne Hathaway, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Alan Arkin and Bill Murray. The flick will finally hit theaters June 20.

“No, it’s totally different!” he said, retracting his previous remark. “With ['Smart'], there’s gadgets and these enormous sets. ‘The Office’ essentially is in an office and with terrible fluorescent lighting … and now, I get my ass kicked by the Rock. So, that’s pretty cool.” (more…)
