Well if anyone remembers I had up a feature post on the site a fews weeks back about Barack Obama and The Rock? Well guess what Barack came to the WWE on Monday night raw and he had to mention one of the rock’s infamous one liners in his speech.
Obama borrowed the signature line from former WWE champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in a warning to the special interests in Washington. “Do you smell what Barack is cooking?” Obama asks.
Hillary Clinton also vowed to drop the people’s elbow
Nice to see the WWE using it’s pull to encourage it’s fans to get involved and be aware and to VOTE!

Ok I wasn’t going to say anything about this I was just gonna post it in the press archives and leave it be but after listening to an audio clip and reading the interview again I think it deserves some attention.
You can listen to an audio clip of what John actual said to the Sun UK about Rock. Take note the interview was done in January and is just being released now (could this be a WM angle I don’t know) but read the full story
Finally … The Rock has come back to WrestleMania!
Well, WrestleMania weekend, anyway. That’s right, the Hollywood box-office Superstar, nine-time World Champion and The Most Electrifying Man in Sports-Entertainment, The Rock, will be a part of one of the most anticipated weekends on the WWE Calendar. On the eve of WrestleMania XXIV, The Rock will be on hand in Orlando, Fla., to induct two very special men into the WWE Hall of Fame - his father, Rocky Johnson, and his grandfather, the legendary High Chief Peter Maivia. WWE’s Hall of Fame Class of 2008 will be inducted on Saturday, March 29 as part of WrestleMania weekend
I can’t believe I am about to say this but Rock was on Raw tonight! He just came out of nowhere!! He gave us the true meaning of the name Umaga and what he thinks about Mcmahon getting is his head shaved! I happened to be watching Raw and I will have caps and a video up after the show. I want to make sure Rock won’t make anymore appearances. I hope this means he might be a Wrestlemania 23.
Slam Wrestling interview:
What has been the fear of WWE fans for the last couple years looks like it is now a reality — The Rock appears to be finished wrestling.
In an interview with SLAM! Wrestling, The Rock, real name Dwayne Johnson, said that he did not have an immediate interest in returning to the squared circle, a stage that he called home before launching his movie career.
“I don’t really have the itch to go back,” Johnson admitted.
Kane was recently interviewed by ign.com about his upcoming movie he had some comments about The Rock:
IGN Sports: Obviously you’re not the first wrestler to star in a movie. Do you have a favorite movie starring a wrestler?
Kane: I always liked They Live with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. I thought that was cool. And I think what The Rock has been able to accomplish has been amazing. He has just done a phenomenal job in all of the movies he has been in.
Breakthrough for The Rock
By Michael Cole
May 2, 2006
“I had never made an art-house movie so no one, including me, had a clue what was going to happen.”
What happened for The Rock was nothing short of a breakthrough in his already stellar movie career. The Rock’s latest flick, the thriller “Southland Tales” is one of only three American films, 19 worldwide, that has been chosen to compete for the coveted Palme d’or or Golden Palm award at the prestigious and legendary Cannes film festival. The winner receives recognition as the festival’s top film. (more…)
I know you’ll never physically be able to have another match, but who would be your dream opponent if one more match was a possibility?
“I would love to wrestle Kurt Angle, for sure. I’d also love to wrestle the Rock. I worked with him a couple of times but really never had a chance to do anything. If I could have come back, I would love to have a big dance on the dance floor with him. (more…)
I watched Royal Rumble tonight which I thought was pretty good. Congrats to Rey and Cena. One thing that kinda sparked my attention though was the segment they aired showing the history of the Royal Rumble. They started at 2001. Now if you didn’t know The Rock won the RR in 2000 and went on to Wrestlemania. I was wondering by not including the year 2000 is the WWE still at bad ends with The Rock and vice-versa? It only seems strange that they would exclude one of the top superstars the business has ever seen..let me know what you guys think.
Ok well I promised if any issues stemmed up surrounding the HBK vs Rock issue I would post them. Sounds like some of us were right about the match not happening but as the old wrestling saying goes never say never:
HBK confirmed what had previously been reported ? that his request for a match with Rock at WrestleMania was denied ? in an interview with IGN: “I had mentioned me and Rock because wrestling fans haven’t seen it, but he’s not interested in doing that.” (more…)
The Rock vs. Bret Hart At WM?; Major Heat With HBK
credit: 24wrestling.com To update on the possibility of The Rock at Wrestlemania, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the one person he would want to work with is Bret Hart. Due to Hart?s respect for the Rock, if he was to work with someone, The Rock would be a likely candidate. However, his physical condition likely prevents him from doing a match that he would want to be remembered for…. (more…)

We’re hearing that the current plan for the Vince McMahon/Shawn Michaels storyline is for Shawn to face none other than The Rock at Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago. In the storyline Vince will apparantly put up “big bucks” to bring back “Hollywood” Rock in an attempt to take out Michaels. Interestingly, you’ll remember them doing something VERY similar back in 2003 before No Way Out with The Rock coming back in to face Hogan. Due to the (fairly) detailed description of what the plan is we would assume rock has already been contrcted and has agreed to the match. We would not expect a long feud however, instead expect vince to feud with HBK and bring Rock in just a few weeks prior to wrestlemania. This would work out best for Rock who is beginning filming of a new movie around April time.
This also puts the rumoured Austin/Hogan match in major doubt as we are told WWE do not want to promote both austin/hogan and rock/michaels on the same card, so if this is the plan as we are hearing it is then it seems WWE must have given up on getting austin and hogan together at WM.
More as we get it.
webmistress comments: ok not to rain on anyone parade but I remember Rock saying he had no desire to work with Michaels whatsoever so I would like to see how this is gonna play out. I will keep you all posted when i get news
Dwayne had a few things to say about his relationship with Eddie Guerrero. I thought what he said was very touching. Big thanks to KD_MAD for always coming through and sending in news: ?I always felt a closeness to Eddy,? said Dwayne Johnson. ?Not only because of the love and passion we shared for the business, but because we both came from a long line of wrestlers. I remember my dad introducing me to Eddy?s family in the locker room when my dad worked in Houston for Paul Boesch. I remember when I came and worked Wrestlemania XX with Mick Foley a few years ago. When I got to the Garden, the first thing I did was find Eddy and Benoit to show them love and congratulations for being champions. I told Eddie I was so proud of him and that he had earned the right to call himself a world champion, and was proud to have him and Benoit representing me in the business as (more…)
EDIT: Big thanks to everyone for posting such nice heartfelt comments about Eddie..these are moments when having a website is so great b/c you can use it for anything you want. I am glad to have been able to allow visitors of the site, and fans to post comments!
My prayers also go out to Eddie’s family as well!
I apologize for not updating but I can’t bring myself to do anything else…I saw Raw tonight and I think I cried the whole time. They did such a good job on the tribute video. As a fan I am gonna miss Eddie so much..there was no one like him. I have been watching him ever since WCW even just wrestling period and he was always one of those guys who stood out. ..and could keep my attention. I even saw him wrestle from the Smackdown shows and Raw shows I had gone to. Tonight I kept thinking he was just gonna walk out to the ring and say “I Lie” and we would all just laugh. I can’t believe he’s gone it feels like a dream to me..I didn’t think it would affect me as much but it has..I feel like we lost someone really special..WWE will never be the same.
I was saddended today to learn that Eddie Guerrero died this morning (November 13, 2005). Eddie was a good wrestler and was really entertaining. He was an instrumental piece to Smackdown’s success. He did cross pathes with The Rock on more than one occasion including a title defense for the US Title. I will miss Latino Heat as I am sure a lot of WWE fans will.
