Over the last couple of days I have been posting a fair amount of Get Smart related articles and interviews to the IDJ.net Press archives. On a side note I saw Get Smart on Monday night because I won 4 tickets off the radio to a special screening and you guys have to see this movie. Dwayne’s character is so funny. I was laughing the entire time. Steve Carell had me in tears. I know a lot of people thought the trailer was the whole movie but it is not. I had to drive like an hour to the special screening theater but it was worth it. Can’t wait till Friday to see it again!

Here’s a video clip of the cast at the Get Smart L.A. Premiere. Steve does the talking but we get to see Dwayne on the red carpet and he has some words to say about Steve.

Today was the L.A. World Premiere of Get Smart and the full cast including Dwayne attended the premiere. I have added 15 MQ candids for now. More will be posted once they become available. I love Dwayne’s tie and he towers over Steve Carell oh my.

The Rock DVD Collection Give away!

Earlier this year Dwayne visited London to promote the Game Plan and while there he stayed at the Soho Hotel.We brought you pics of him leaving the Soho Hotel… well he also got some nice press shots taken of him just sitting and posing for the cameras inside the hotel. CineVegas wisens up with special charity screening of GET SMART on Sunday, June 15, benefiting actor Dwayne Johnson’s The Rock Foundation. As part of its tenth anniversary celebration, the CineVegas Film Festival will host a special charity screening of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Get Smart on Sunday, June 15, at Planet Hollywood Resort Casino, with proceeds benefiting The Rock Foundation and its special program, Project Knapsack.

Here is another clip from ET on the set of Race to Witch Mountain there is more footage of the set scene and it has Anna Sophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig as well as the director saying some words. ET is just slowing leaking stuff out from the one set visit they did.

According to the sunco.uk Dwayne will be receiving the Brenden Celebrity Star:

THE ROCK is to have a star on the Las Vegas version of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

The wrestler-turned-actor, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson, joins previous recipients DENNIS HOPPER, SLYVESTER STALLONE, CUBA GOODING JR and HUGH HEFNER.

The Scorpion King star will be honoured by JOHNNY BRENDEN, grandson of the former owner of Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, as his star is laid outside Brenden Theatres at the Palms Casino Resort on Sunday.

He will also receive a $2,500 (£1,250) cheque for his charity, the Rock Foundation.

Variety gave the 1st official Get Smart review from the viewing at the Mann Chinese Theater in LA:

It seemed like a natural: Redo “Get Smart,” the landmark ’60s TV spy spoof, with Steve Carell. Who better to update Maxwell Smart - the idiot-savantish secret agent originated by Don Adams - than “The Office’s” master of disassociative, self-effacing humor? But in the end, a bigscreen version of television’s “Get Smart” had issues to address - the hero was too one-dimensional, the female lead too adoring, the Cold War too over. So helmer Peter Segal’s formulaic takeoff is neither fish nor fowl, not quite faithful to the show, but not quite bringing it into the 21st century either. It may ride Carell’s star to major B.O., at least initially. But it’s nothing you want to take off your shoe and call home about. Read the rest of this entry »

Apple itunes and Get Smart have teamed up to offer an exclusive free get smart clip for download! Yes it’s free and you can download it on their site via your itunes application. The clip is about 7:45mins and talks about the film and has some new scenes and is worth the download. I will not be adding it for download here at the site because there are some pretty strict copyright rules since they are partnered with Apple but you can download it by going to Get Smart Itunes Free clip or clicking on the itunes icon.
